Matt Weibring, son of 5-time PGA TOUR winner D.A. Weibring, has begun to make a name for himself in the golf world. Since turning pro in 2002, Matt has consistently played tournaments on both the PGA TOUR and Nationwide Tour schedules. A Georgia Tech alum, Matt’s Yellow Jacket teammates include fellow PGA TOUR players Matt Kuchar, Bryce Molder and Troy Matteson.
After hip surgery in 2010 sidelined much of his season, Matt played in five PGA TOUR and 17 Nationwide Tour events in 2011. His best finish was T7 at the Nationwide Tour’s Cox Classic Presented by Lexus of Omaha.
Matt and his wife Steph have one daughter, Marli (2), and another child due Fall 2011.
“Matt Weibring literally grew up on the PGA TOUR, following his father D.A. around the country from stop to stop so he has a great understanding of what it takes to be a successful professional golfer. His ability to balance his family along with the rigors of playing golf at the highest level are two of the reasons I think he will have a successful career on the PGA TOUR.” – Peter Jacobsen
