ANTHONY KIM AND TODD HAMILTON COMMIT TO THE CVS CAREMARK

CHARITY CLASSIC

Kim Featured in Tourament Advertising

WOONSOCKET, R.I (April 30, 2009) – PGA TOUR young gun Anthony Kim and 2004 British Open Champion Todd Hamilton are the latest PGA stars to join the notable CVS Caremark Charity Classic roster.  Making their debut appearances, the two will partner to compete at the venerable tournament June 21-23 at the Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington, R.I.

“We’re thrilled to have Anthony and Todd playing in this year’s CVS Caremark Charity Classic.  Both players bring lots of energy to the tournament and will be a huge draw for fans,” said Eileen Howard Dunn, Tournament Chairwoman of the CVS Caremark Charity Classic.  “Having these golf greats fuels the excitement for the event and in turn helps raise money to support our many deserving charity partners.”

Kim will be appearing in more than the popular three-day tournament, however, as he is prominently featured in newly developed CVS Caremark Charity Classic advertising.  Beginning in early May, fans of the victorious 2008 Ryder Cup team member will see Kim – along with other young golf sensations - on billboards and in print ads throughout Rhode Island and Southeast New England.  The eye-catching creative, which also features Camilo Villegas, Natalie Gulbis and Morgan Pressel, is designed to underscore the world-class level of talent that comes to the annual tournament on Narragansett Bay. Villegas makes a solo appearance in one creative treatment striking his trademark Spiderman putting pose.

The CVS Caremark Charity Classic, New England’s number one charity sporting event, also created a 30-second television spot focusing on the philanthropic arm of the tournament.  Entitled “Long Putt,” the spot opens with a golfer lining up a putt.  As the ball is hit, the camera follows it as it rolls off the green and through a variety of the benefiting charities’ facilities such as a gym at a local Boys & Girls Club, a children’s room at Bradley Hospital and the Meeting Street’s pool.  The spot brings to life the Charity Classic’s decade-long tradition of supporting area charitable organizations.  Since 1999, the CVS Caremark Charity Classic has raised $12 million for hundreds of non profits that are focused on children, family and providing assistance to those in need, particularly in the areas of housing, food and heat assistance.

Mixing It Up

Mixed teams will participate in the 2009 edition of the tournament for the first time.  Co-ed pairings are set to include Pressel with Davis Love III, Juli Inkster with Brad Faxon, Helen Alfredsson with Billy Andrade and Gulbis with Peter Jacobsen.  Back to defend their title will be 2008 tournament champions Bubba Watson and Villegas.  Other teams slated to attend include the fellow South African’s Nick Price and Retief Goosen as well as uncle/nephew duo of Dana Quigley and Brett Quigley who will be making their 11th straight appearance.

Tournament week begins with the Pepsi Pro-Am on Sunday, June 21 followed by the two-day tournament Monday, June 22-Tuesday, June, 23 at the Rhode Island Country Club.  Participants will be competing for a purse of $1.55 million.
